Get ready, because April is shaping up to be a busy month – with the Easter holidays, we have a whole host of exciting character events on the horizon, and there is plenty to look forward to!

But first, let's look back at a March to remember…

Hey Duggee made special appearances on the sidelines of Greg James’ incredible Comic Relief challenge, lifting spirits, entertaining the crowds, and helping to build a buzz ahead of Greg's arrival at different stops. An unforgettable moment for a truly brilliant cause.

Dennis the Menace celebrated his 10^th birthday for the 75^th time – what an exciting milestone! The nation’s most beloved and mischievous comic book character marked a truly iconic anniversary in style by launching a special edition featuring 75 creative mischief-makers. We cant wait to see more from him this year!

March 20th, was Very Hungry Caterpillar Day in honour of Eric Carle's timeless classic. The Very Hungry Caterpillar himself ventured to the beautiful Walthamstow Wetlands for meet & greets and storytelling sessions, celebrating the launch of The Very Hungry Caterpillar trail — which runs all the way until 30th June. A must-visit!

World Book Day kicked off the beginning of the month in the best way possible, with Mr Bump and Little Miss Sunshine bringing the magic to Battersea Power Station. Families were treated to an exciting treasure hunt, making for a truly special day of literacy celebration.

More recently, Bluey, Bingo, Chilli & Bandit officially opened a brand-new ride at Alton Towers at the weekend! It was a huge moment for the Heeler family and a brilliant day out for the fans!

We kicked off 2026 at Hamleys’ New Year’s Day Parade, sprinkling a little extra magic over the very start of the year.

A truly royal moment followed at the National Year of Reading launch, as Her Majesty the Queen was joined by much-loved comic book favourites Dennis and Gnasher - delighting children and sparking a wave of nostalgia for adults.

Meanwhile, Pikachu and Eevee helped launch a three-month pop-up at the Natural History Museum, celebrating Pokémon’s 30th anniversary in unforgettable style.

Our characters then stole the show at London Toy Fair, welcoming guests, posing for photos, and exploring the show floor to spread excitement throughout the venue. The highlight was the character parade, which captivated attendees and drew crowds as it wound through the halls. Smiles, laughter, and flashing cameras followed as a wave joy swept across the show floor.

As we bid farewell to an incredible 2025 and step into 2026, we have been reflecting on a year that was award-winning for Rainbow. From global events to exciting new character launches, 2025 was packed with unforgettable moments – and we can't wait to see what 2026 has in store.

Our characters kicked off the year with a flying start on New Year's Day, Peppa Pig & George Pig went to Winter Wonderland, The Gruffalo was at Cheltenham Racecourse, and Batman, Superman and Paddington™ joined in Hamleys New Year's Day Parade. After a 6-year hiatus, the Christmas Character Parade returned to the Trafford Centre last month, bringing with it the centres busiest day ever with over 131,000 visitors.  We had an amazing time bringing children’s favourites including Ginger from Vegesaurs, Miraculous’ Lady Bug & Cat Noir and Mr. Bump & Little Miss Sunshine to the stage and can’t wait to do it all again next year.

The same weekend, Bluey teamed up with Pudsey and Joe Wicks for the LIVE Activate Schools Special, before Pudsey joined Stephen Mulhern for a Deal or No Deal sketch, all in support of BBC Children in Need, who raised a phenomenal £45,507,536!

The Snowman™ wrapped up the month with a visit to Battersea Power Station for the launch of Classic FM and Global’s Make Some Noise’s charity campaign ‘The Big Christmas Chorus’. Celebrating 40 years since the release of “Walking in the Air”, the campaign invites schools and community choirs to perform the song and aims to raise funds for Make Some Noise’s supported charities.

We kicked off October with a busy week at Brand Licensing Europe, where 72 of our characters walked the aisles on day one and 49 on day two! It was a huge honour to have been part of such a vibrant celebration of creativity, connection and most importantly characters!

Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie also premiered in cinemas, with Gabby and Cakey visiting cinemas across the UK to meet fans ahead of seeing her cat-tastic adventure on the big screen. And ‘Four Happy Bunnies’, a new Peter Rabbit™ baby book, was unveiled at Clarence House by Her Majesty The Queen alongside Peter Rabbit himself.

Looking ahead to November, the Trafford Centre’s free Christmas Character Parade is returning on Saturday 15^th, bringing together  a dazzling cast of children’s favourites – including Numberblock One, Mojo and Bo, Hey Duggee, Paddington™, The Gruffalo, Sonic the Hedgehog™, Teletubbies, Supertato and many more - alongside dancers, singers and a grand appearance by Father Christmas himself.

Recently young shoppers joined in with Hey Duggee during his Stick Song activity at the Merrion Centre in Leeds, while Bluey and Bingo wowed fans at Mrs Dowsons Farm Park in Blackburn with the Toybox activity. 

Peter Rabbit™ also made a special appearance at the National Trust’s Knole site in Kent as part of their The World of Peter Rabbit™ Storytime Trail, bringing the site to life and creating everlasting memories for visitors.

With two bank holiday weekends and a half term, May has been a busy month for character appearances.

Paddington™ reopened the newly refurbished flagship store in Paddington Station and was on-hand to greet young shoppers…everyone’s lovable superhero, Supertato, headed to Gulliver’s Theme Park in Warrington…and Bluey helped to open the new Matalan store at Gallions Reach Shopping Park in Beckton!

May has been a month of surprises for Peppa Pig fans too, as Peppa welcomed her new baby sister, Evie, to the family! Mummy Pig and Evie joined Peppa at VUE Cinema Leicester Square for a sneak-peek at her new oinktastic cinema experience ‘Peppa Meets the Baby’ which hit selected cinemas on 30^th May. A huge congratulations to the whole Pig family!

February was filled with fun events.  We saw Dogman visiting cinemas across the country to promote  the release of his new movie and Paddington™ went on a half-term adventure to the Eden Project in Cornwall celebrate the home release of Paddington in Peru.

Plus, following their big BAFTA win for their recent movie Vengeance Most Foul, Wallace & Gromit attended Animate Preston’s grand opening alongside creator Nick Park CBE, as well as the unveiling of the city's new permanent resident, the criminal mastermind Feathers McGraw!

Last month Mr. Strong and Little Miss Sunshine visited UNIQLO in Westfield White City to support the launch of the Crisis x Mr. Men Little Miss collaboration.  Proceeds from the sale of the limited-edition t-shirt and embroidery range are being donated to Crisis, the charity for people experiencing homelessness.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Leo, Raph, Donnie & Mikey – also appeared at various retailers across the country to promote the release of their new video game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed.

Everyone’s favourite bear, Paddington™, was spotted on the red carpet at the Pride of Britain Awards in London, before presenting a Child of Courage award to five-year-old Aiyla Mota.

Finally, children were invited to step into a magical world of play this October half term when Pip and Posy took part in their shopping centre tour!

To celebrate the arrival of ‘Bluey’s Big Play’ in Dublin, Bluey also visited Dublin Castle where children presented her with wonderful drawings of her and her whole family.

This year marks the 25^th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants and last month he was seen celebrating in style at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Visitors to the Fan Zone enjoyed a huge SpongeBob themed Paramount+ activation and had the chance to meet SpongeBob himself.

The Hundred Cricket tournament returned to our screens this July and so did their legendary sponsors.  This year Compare the Market’s Carl the Wombat has been joined by everyone’s favourite meerkats, Aleksandr and Sergei.

And with the Paris 2024 Olympics now well underway, Team GB’s Pride the Lion attended the opening of the Battersea Power Station Fan Zone last Friday, where he cut the ribbon alongside four-time British Olympic champion, Christine Ohuruogu MBE.

June saw the MLB World Tour return to the London Stadium, which also meant that Henry VIII, Winston Churchill, a King’s Guardsman, and Freddie Mercury took part in the ‘British’ mascot race once again, with Freddie coming out on top!  Also in the world of sport, Albärt, the official sports mascot for the UEFA Euro 2024 football tournament, has be spotted mingling with fans in Germany.

PAW Patrol’s Rubble has been visiting Smyths Toy Stores across the country to promote the launch the new Rubble and Crew toy range.  He has been meeting fans in-store and giving away Rubble and Crew branded caps.

Festival season has also started, as CBeebies favourites Bluey, Hey Duggee and Supertato appeared at We Invented the Weekend, Glastonbury welcomed the Minions Glastonbury and Bluey & Bingo joined the line-up at Gloworm Warrington.

Peter Rabbit is a mischievous and courageous young bunny rabbit who has a natural curiosity and a kind interest in seeking adventure. With two bank holidays and a half term, May has been a busy month for character appearances.

Blue, the star of Paramount Pictures new family movie IF, walked the purple carpet at the London premiere… Pikachu cheered on 24 primary school teams at The ESFA Pokémon Primary Schools’ Cup Finals at Derby Country Football Club… and Chilli and Bandit joined Bluey and Bingo to celebrate the 10^th anniversary of CBeebies Land at Alton Towers Resort!

It’s been an exciting month for Peppa Pig too.  The whole Pig family attended the opening of mainland Europe’s first Peppa Pig Theme Park in Germany and Peppa Pig attended the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas to kick start her 20^th anniversary celebrations!
