CHARACTER PROFILE FOR ZOG

Zog is a young, keen, but accident-prone dragon. At school he keeps getting into mischief when learning how to fly, roar and breathe fire.

Each year he is helped by a kind young girl who patches up his bumps and bruises, and he tries his hardest every day to win a gold star.

Zog is a 2010 children’s picture book by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, about a young accident-prone dragon, named Zog, who wants to be the best student in dragon school. The sequel, titled Zog and the Flying Doctors was published in September 2016
Zog and Zog and the Flying Doctors were then developed into a half-hour television film which premiered in the UK on Christmas Day in 2018 and 2020, respectively
In 2010, the Zog story book won the Galaxy National Book Award, and the film won the 2018 International Emmy for Kids Animation
Both films have a star-studded voice cast including Lenny Henry (narrator), Hugh Skinner (Zog) and Patsy Ferran (Princess Pearl)
