May features two extended Bank Holiday weekends plus a Half-Term School Holiday; with these dates comes the added opportunity for venues to host licensed character appearances, mini shows, narrations and interactive events to help appeal even more to a family demographic.
May 23 will see the start of a nationwide tour of intu shopping centres by eOne’s Peppa Pig. The tour starts at intu MetroCentre in Gateshead, stops off at a total of fourteen venues and finishes on May 31. Peppa Pig’s huge fan-base around the country will have an opportunity to have some “Holiday Fun” with Peppa, as well as a chance to dance the Peppa steppa. Rainbow Productions is managing the character tour in partnership with Entertainment One and intu.
During May, one of the latest signings to the firm’s portfolio of licensed children’s characters represented under licence – The Gruffalo – will also be making a number of personal appearances, visiting venues such as farm parks, shopping centres and outdoor events. The Gruffalo will also be taking part in enhanced narration activities.
