London Toy Fair, Promotional Character Tours and More this January!

The opening month of 2016 sees a continuation of the promotional Character Tour in support of the film, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip.  As part of the promotion this month, Alvin, Simon and Theodore will stop-off at venues across the UK including Hamleys toy stores and shopping centres.

Also scheduled for January, promotional activity around comic book character, Deadpool will include Rainbow Productions managing character appearances at Forbidden Planet stores in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds and Nottingham.

Also in January, the annual London Toy Fair runs from January 24 to 26 2016 at London’s Olympia. As well as providing a forum to showcase toys, the trade show brings together toy manufacturers, licensors, licensees, retailers and the media.  The Minions are set to attend on day one, January 24.  On press day – Monday 25 January - the Minions will be joined by a host of other licensed children’s properties.

New for 2016, Rainbow Productions has also added several licensed children’s properties to its roster of characters supplied for personal appearances at UK venues; more information to follow.

Below is further details of some of the character events referenced, above, as well as examples of additional character appearances scheduled to take place in January.  Please note that the dates and venues listed are subject to change.

January 1: Cheltenham Racecourse has organised family entertainment for their New Year’s Day Meet, with guest appearances of The Gruffalo as well as a Storytelling Session with Dora.

January 2: Alvin, Simon and Theodore from The Chipmunks continue their promotional tour today with a visit t to Hamleys on London’s Regent Street.

January 3: Alvin and The Chipmunks head to Hamleys Lakeside Store.

January 10: Hamleys in Manchester is the location for guest appearances by Alvin and The Chipmunks.

January 16: Busy Bees Nursery in Gillingham in Kent has booked The Gruffalo to see children at the nursery.

January 16: Glasgow’s Hamleys is the host venue for today’s stop off by Alvin, Simon and Theodore.

January 17: Today is the annual charity event run by the London Taxi Drivers, which is this year also supported by eOne and Nickelodeon through personal appearances by Peppa Pig plus Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol, respectively.

January 17: The Road Chip promotional movie tour continues with a visit by the three Chipmunks to the Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow.

January 23: Alvin, Simon and Theodore head to White Rose shopping centre in Leeds; they will also be greeting fans at Festival Place shopping centre in Basingstoke.

January 24: The Rotunda Kingston leisure complex hosts The Chipmunks today, as well as Xscape in Castleford.

January 24: The Sunday opening day of London’s Toy Fair sees Stuart, Bob and Kevin from the Minions attend on behalf of Universal.

January 25: Press Day at Toy Fair sees Rainbow Productions managing the personal appearances of a number of licensed children’s characters in support of toy lines, including the Teletubbies; Tatty Teddy; a Care Bear; Great BigHoo and Toodloo from the Twirlywoos; Pikachu; Peppa Pig; Ben & Holly from Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom; Sonic (Boom); Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol plus Stuart, Bob and Kevin from the Minions.

January 30: The Chipmunks tour continues with visits to Liverpool One and Xscape Milton Keynes.

January 31: Meadowhall and Bluewater Shopping Centres are the venues for today’s visit by Alvin, Simon and Theodore.
