LICENSED CHILDREN'S CHARACTERS VISIT UK EVENTS DURING JANUARY 2015

New Year’s Day kicks off with a visit from the Moshi Monsters to a Family Race Day at Cheltenham Racecourse.  The month of January also includes a couple of annual events in Rainbow Productions’ calendar of activities involving character appearances managed by the company, namely the London Toy Fair and the London Taxi Drivers’ Charity party.

January also sees shopping centres booking character appearances to help support their retail tenants, as another way of helping attract footfall to centres during the post-Christmas period.

Upcoming character events scheduled to take place during the first month of the year are included below.  Both the date and the venue details given below are subject to last minute changes.

Jan 1: Katsuma and Poppet from the Moshi Monsters are heading to New Year’s Day races at Cheltenham Racecourse.

Jan 3: Studio Canal has arranged for Shaun the Sheep to head to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, London today.

Jan 12: Warner Bros. Entertainment has arranged for Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck to attend the NBA Basketball Clinic, which takes place at the Imperial College in South Kensington.

Jan 13: The EAG Amusement & Leisure Show at London’s ExCel exhibition centre will include a visit from Minions Jerry and Jorge, who will be making appearances on before of exhibitor, Whitehorse Leisure stand.

Jan 18: Entertainment One is supporting the annual London Taxi Drivers’ charity event, with appearances by Peppa Pig.

Jan 20: Press Day at the annual Toy Fair exhibition in London will again feature a number of licensed children’s characters making personal appearances on the show floor, with confirmed attendees to date, including: Shaun the Sheep, Small and Tiny from the Clangers, Jewel Sparkles, Leo and Raph from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob SquarePants, Hey Duggie, Peppa Pig & George, Ben & Holly, Pikachu, Sonic the Hedgehog, Oh from Home, Iggle Piggle & Upsy Daisy plus Furchester Hotel characters Elmo and Phoebe.

Jan 25: Brent Cross shopping centre has arranged a Postman Pat narration event for their shoppers today.

Jan 30: The Oracle shopping centre in Reading will receive a visit from Paddington.

Jan 31: Peppa Pig will be making appearances at Boots the Chemist today.
