Meet the official mascot commissioned by the Irish Football Association, in connection with Northern Ireland being the host country for the UEFA Women’s Under 19 Championship next year.
The mascot was launched this month at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park in Belfast and is pictured here with Eadie, who drew the winning design. Another competition is currently under way to decide a name for the mascot, with the result being revealed soon!
The UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship kicks off in summer 2017, with match days scheduled for August 8th, 11th and 14th. The annual international football tournament is organised by UEFA for European national under-19 teams to compete in. Eight teams will qualify, with semi-finals due to take place in Northern Ireland on August 17th. The final will be on August 20th 2017, where France will be looking to retain the title they claimed in 2016.
