COSTUME MAKERS

Location: Colliers Wood, South London

Type: Freelance

We are looking for talented individuals to join our busy team of Costume Makers, helping to create mascots for a range of clients, including Film, Theatre, Licensing, Sports and Leisure.

Head Makers:

• We are ideally looking for people with previous experience of sculpting three dimensionally in Plastazote. However we do offer extensive training in this medium to enable makers to complete costumes to our standards.
• Experience in sculpting, model making, puppet & prop making, millinery, upholstery and/or working with fabrics in a 3D environment are very good groundings to successfully manufacture a costume character head.

Body Makers:

• We are looking for people with a knowledge of flat patterning, draping on the stand, machining and hand sewing. A good knowledge of period costuming and or working in fashion would be an advantage.
• Prop making skills would be an ideal in both Plastazote and foam, but not essential as training on all parts will be given.
• Experience using industrial/domestic sewing and Overlocker machines.

A degree qualification is a good indication of skill level, but a creative background based on working in a team, to strict deadlines with a professional attitude & attention to detail is our primary requirement.
