CHILDREN’S CHARACTERS ATTEND UK EVENTS THIS FEBRUARY

The month of February is set to be a busy month of character activities, with retailers, shopping centres and promotional partners all ramping up their marketing activities over the Half Term school holidays to provide free added entertainment for family audiences.
Character meet and greet appearances managed by Rainbow Productions offer the public opportunities to interact with famous children’s brands at a broad range of venues across the UK, including racecourses, airports, visitor attractions, toy stores and shopping malls.
A selection of character events scheduled for February is included, below. Each event day will involve character appearances and experiential activities at intervals throughout the day. The information is correct at the time of going live although both the licensed character and the associated location for the event are subject to change.
February’s line-up of character events includes:
February 1st: A number of promotional guest appearances of Mr. Peabody and Sherman are scheduled this month, on behalf of Twentieth Century Fox; today will see the film characters visiting Vue Cinema in London’s Leicester Square.
February 1st: Postman Pat will be making in-store appearances at Hamleys toy store on London’s Regent Street.
February 1st: Back by popular demand, Peppa Pig will be returning to Thistles Shopping Centre in Stirling today.
February 3rd:The Spring Fair trade show runs this week at Birmingham’s NEC and today there will be a show floor presence by Peppa Pig, booked by the Portmeirion Group, as well as the Very Hungry Caterpillar being present on behalf of Rocket Licensing – both characters will help support associated products being showcased at Spring Fair.
February 4th: ASDA Stores has arranged for Peppa Pig to visit a number of stores this month; today will see Peppa Pig appearing at intervals at stores in Dartford and Maidstone.
February 7th: Peppa Pig will be in-store at ASDA in Oxford and Stratford.
February 8th: Today, Newport and Bristol ASDA stores will receive a visit from Peppa Pig.
February 8th: Mr. Peabody and Sherman can be spotted at Hamleys in Manchester’s Trafford Centre.
February 9th: Universal Studios has arranged for Minions characters Stuart and Jerry to visit a number of Smyths Toys in February; today will see the film characters popping into Smyths Toys on Castlevale Retail Park in Birmingham.
February 13th: Sid and Diego from the Ice Age film franchise will be greeting passengers at London Heathrow’s Terminals 3 and 5 today, at intervals. On Saturday 5th Sid and Diego will be visiting Terminals 1 and 4, while on Sunday 6th they will be in Terminals 5 and 1
February 16th: RFU ambassador for children’s rugby, Ruckley, will be attending Twickenham.
February 16th: Churchill Square Shopping Centre in Brighton will be hosting a Peppa Pig and George narration event.
February 18th: Mike the Knight and Evie will be visiting the Oracle Shopping Centre in Reading.
February 18th: Peppa Pig will be seeing her fans at Twinlakes Park visitor attraction in Melton Mowbray.
February 18th: Jones Lang LaSalle has arranged forFireman Sam to go to Royal Priors Shopping Centre in Leamington Spa, followed by a visit on February 19th to Northfield Shopping Centre in south Birmingham.
February 18th: The Grosvenor Centre in Macclesfield will be hosting personal appearances by Postman Pat® and Jess the Cat, organised via Jones Lang LaSalle.
February 19th: Fifi Forget-Me-Not and Bumble will be going to the intu Potteries Shopping Centre in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
February 19th: Thomas the Tank Engine and The Fat Controller will be present at the West Quay Shopping Centre in Southampton.
February 20th: Hero Next Door Fireman Sam is going to Ankerside Shopping Centre in Tamworth.
February 21st: Queensgate Shopping Centre in Peterborough has arranged a Peppa Pig and George narration event to take place in the centre.
February 21st: SpongeBob SquarePants is going to the Arcades Shopping Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire.
February 21st: Moshi Monster character Poppet will be calling in on the Grange & Pyramids Shopping Centre in Birkenhead, arranged by Jones Lang LaSalle.
February 22nd: RFU’s Ruckley will be attending the England versus Ireland game at Twickenham.
February 22nd: Families visiting Chelmsely Wood will have an opportunity to see Peppa Pig when she makes appearances at intervals within the Shopping Centre in Birmingham.
February 22nd: Lingfield Park Racecourse is hosting a Family Fun Day which will include a visit from Katsuma from the Moshi Monsters.
February 22nd: Brent Cross Shopping Centre in north London has arranged for Captain Barnacles and Kwazii to make appearances.
February 27th: Tree Fu Tom is going to the Newlands Shopping Centre in Kettering.
