WALLACE & GROMIT

Wallace is a cheese-loving inventor who resides in the fictional town of West Wallaby Street, Wigan, Lancashire, England. With an affection for knitted sweaters, and a love for all things mechanical, he is a creative genius and often creates bizarre and unconventional inventions that help him and Gromit in their adventures.

His favourite treat is a ‘cracking’ cracker and a nice wedge of Wensleydale cheese.

Gromit, on the other hand, is a silent but loyal dog who often saves Wallace from his own mishaps. Being the more level-headed of the duo, he communicates primarily through facial expressions and actions, with a love of cooking and knitting, Gromit has become one of the most beloved animated characters in history.

• Wallace & Gromit is a British stop-motion animation franchise created by Nick Park and produced by Aardman Animations, a British animation studio
• Wallace & Gromit’s first adventure began with the 1989 short film “A Grand Day Out,” in which the duo builds a homemade rocket to travel to the moon
• The franchise has expanded to include several other short films and a feature-length film, “The Curse of the Were-Rabbit,” which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2006
• Wallace & Gromit won best short animation for their latest adventure – A Matter of Loaf and Death – at the 36th Annie Awards and the BAFTA’s They have also won their fifth Oscar nomination for the short film, in the Short-Animated Film category
• Wallace & Gromit won the Children’s Choice category for the British Animation Awards 2010
• Wallace & Gromit’s World of Invention series for BBC1 reached an average 4 million viewers per episode
• Aardman Animations has confirmed that a brand new Wallace & Gromit movie will debut on BBC One and Netflix (Winter 2024) featuring the return of Feathers McGraw.
