CHILDREN’S CHARACTERS MAKING APPEARANCES AT UK EVENTS THIS DECEMBER

Christmas characters, The Snowman and The Snowdog

With Christmas approaching, a number of famous children’s characters from the world of television, publishing and online gaming are scheduled to attend festive events across the UK.

A selection of December events can be seen, below, with characters making appearances at intervals on these dates. Both the characters and the venues listed below are subject to change.

• December 1^st: Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman joins shoppers at Kennet Shopping in Newbury.
• December 1^st: Today Ice Age characters Sid and Scrat can be spotted in Loughborough; on December 8^th Charnwood Borough Council has also arranged for Postman Pat® and Jess the Cat to visit the town.
• December 1^st: Tree Fu Tom will be visiting the indoor ski slope attraction Chill Factor-e in Manchester.
• December 5^th, 6^th, 12^th, 13^th, 20^th, 21^st, 23^rd & 24^th: Passengers passing through various terminals at London Heathrow on these dates will have an opportunity to see The Snowman and The Snowdog.
• December 7^th: The Debenhams store on London’s Oxford Street will be hosting personal appearances by The Fat Controller, Katsuma from the Moshi Monsters and Tree Fu Tom – arranged through HIT Entertainment, Mind Candy and Fremantle Media respectively.
• December 7^th:  Postman Pat® and the Jess the Cat are set to deliver added fun to families at Grays Shopping Centre in West Thurrock.
• December 7^th: The Mall Luton has arranged for Mike the Knight and his sister Evie to visit.
• December 7^th & 8^th: Peppa Pig will be present at the Canary Wharf shopping centre.
• December 8^th: Clacton Factory Outlet will receive a visit from Postman Pat® and Jess the Cat.
• December 8^th: Nickelodeon characters Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants are both set to greet shoppers at the Spindles shopping centre in Oldham this month; Dora on the 8^th and SpongeBob on the 14^th.
• December 8^th: Relative newcomer to the Rainbow Productions’ portfolio of licensed characters, Buddy from Dinosaur Train can be seen at the Swan Walk Shopping Centre in Horsham today.  On December 15^th the centre will also host appearances by The Snowman and The Snowdog.
• December 12^th: Thorntons Plc has arranged for Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman to visit Thorntons in Derby.
• December 14^th: St Tydfil shopping centre in Merthyr Tydfil will be visited by Postman Pat® and Jess the Cat.
• December 14^th: Ben & Holly from Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom are going to Riverside shopping centre in Evesham.
• December 22^nd: Bunn Leisure in Selsey has arranged for Ice Age’s Sid and Scrat to stop by and see their guest; meanwhile, on Christmas Eve The Snowman will be present and on December 29^th Wallace and Gromit are set to make personal appearances.
• December 26^th: On Boxing Day Fireman Sam will be at Market Rasen Racecourse in Lincolnshire.
